The Fiver Challenge from Young Enterprise

The Fiver Challenge, from Young Enterprise, is a free national enterprise programme providing children aged 5-11, with first-hand experience of starting their own business with a £5 pledge in four weeks, entering exciting competitions along the way!   This year’s challenge will take place from the 3rd – 28th June 2024.

The Fiver Challenge

During the challenge children are given a £5 investment to start their business and sell their product or service, independently or in a team, entering the weekly and national competitions and win great prizes along the way. Competing against teams and individuals across the UK, children are encouraged to develop their confidence and creativity, as well as gain first-hand experience of becoming an entrepreneur.

We offer £50-£250 funding per school for the £5 pledge. Ready-to-teach resources are accessible all year round to successfully guide children through the programme and to help prepare for next year’s challenge and competitions

The programme is available in English and Welsh, this is a highly interactive and fun way for children to develop the mandatory cross curricular skills or literacy, numeracy and digital competence.  The programme supports the National Curriculum and pupils’ realisation of the four purposes of the Curriculum for Wales. As a result, developing enterprising children with healthy money habits from an early age.
